Our research focuses on the infrastructure and on the public transport system.

It aims to show how an intelligent distribution of the public transport stops can inspire more sociability, how the infrastructure can affect the people socialization to revitalize the built city.

Algorithm makes it possible to predict and optimize the response of a population to an infrastructure project in an objective manner rather than relying on ideological positions and ex post verifications. It represents at the same time a tool for territory analysis and design tool.

The complexity of human behavior, difficult to describe without the use of algorithmic design, becomes a crucial component of the infrastructural design. Designer exploits effects of aggregation flows citizens to redevelop the contemporary city.

Before to descend into the algorithmic design is necessary to clarify that our idea was burn within the university research “Urban Green Line. An ecological infrastructure for Rome”, proposition of a smart multitasking tramway system of new conception that operates in a specific and consolidated congested zone of Rome.

This project, together with the proposal that we intend the submit, derives from the conviction that the brick and infinite expansion of the city represent respectively the material and the process of the past. In the contemporary era Information Technology became the raw material of Architecture and designer has to face new challenges: first able the land use limitation through interstitial areas reuse and suburb regeneration.

According to this logic, we believe that contemporary infrastructure could have an important role for the city regeneration and we have imagined its contribution, how an intelligent distribution of the tram stops can create more sociability, with TramA.
